Rules & Junk

  • Starting in 2025, the Ham Open will be played in foursomes. You and your three partners will play Ham & Egg Scramble golf. Each hole is played as a team, resulting in a single score that counts as your “Team Score.” The team with the lowest total Team Score after 18 holes will be crowned the HAMpions. Ties will be broken by the number of eagles, birdies, and/or pars per team.

  • Let’s run through an example hole with Douglas and Louise:
(This example uses a 2-person team, but the same format applies for 4-person teams.)

Douglas tees off and chunks it 30 yards to the right. Louise then tees off and slaps it 300 yards straight down the fairway. After some discussion, the two of them decide that Louise had the better shot. Douglas picks up his ball and each of them play their next shot from where Louise’s ball ended up. Douglas’ second shot finds its way into the water hazard 30 yards to the right. Louise’s second shot flies 140 yards, bounces onto the green and then rolls off. Louise suggests that she had the better shot and Douglas responds with a bitter “ya think?!” The two of them then hit their third shot from just off the green, where Louise’s ball rolled. Douglas tops his chip and it lands in the bunker 30 yards to the right of the green. Louise’s chip lands just to the left of the flag and rolls within 1 foot of the hole. Louise dared not to look in Douglas’ direction as he wandered off to retrieve his ball from the bunker. Without a word, Douglas walks back to where Louise’s ball ended up to attempt the 9 inch putt. He leaves it short. In a blind rage, Douglas’ putter ends up 30 yards from the hole. Louise taps in her putt and they both steep in a silent ride to the next tee box. The team score for that hole is 4. This same process is followed for the remaining 17 holes. After the round, Louise admits to Douglas that she has been sleeping with his brother, Donnie.

  • Included in the registration is an entry to both the Longest Drive and Closest-To-The-Pin Contests. More details will be announced on the day of the Ham Open.

  • Each participant will be provided with a lunch

Free beer, seltzer and water will be provided throughout the event. It is recommended to bring your own water and an emergency beer or three if supplies run out. Please drink responsibly.
